The Office of former President, John Dramani Mahama has rejected claims that Mr Mahama took ¢14 million as ex-gratia payment in 2013.

A statement signed by Special Aide to the former President, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, clarified that Mr Mahama “never took any of such ex-gratia payment or at any other time during his 25 years of service”.

The office was responding to allegations by the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.

Speaking on GBC’s ‘Behind the News’, an Aide to the former President, Felix Ofosu Kwakye described the claims as outrageous and an attempt to shift public discourse on current economic hardship in the country.
