President Akufo-Addo has justified the need for investors to make Ghana their number one preference when making investment decisions. He said Ghana has moved away from the earlier uncertainties that clouded her path towards progress and prosperity, and the last twenty-nine years of democratic governance in the 4th Republic have generally been the period of the greatest economic growth in history of the country.
Delivering a statement on “Ghana Day” at the ongoing Dubai Expo 2020, President Akufo-Addo noted that Ghana is currently the safest country in West Africa, and the largest recipient of foreign direct investment in West Africa.
”Ghana is a host to the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the 2nd largest cocoa producer in the world, the largest producer of gold in Africa, and endowed with considerable deposits of bauxite, iron ore, manganese, lithium, oil and gas, diamonds, and timber”.
President Akufo Addo re-enforced government’s determination to build a business-friendly economy. He referred to policies such as 1-District-1-Factory and the development of strategic anchor industries, such as the emerging automotive industry and the agricultural expansion programme, Planting for Food and Jobs.
