The chairman of the Public Services Workers Union of Ghana Airport Company Limited, Mr. Abdul Issaka-Bamba has disclosed that McDan Aviation Private Jet Terminal was locked earlier today by the orders of the Managing Director due to the indebtedness to GACL.
The debt comprises land leases, rentals, and terminal charges accumulated over a period.
Additionally, Mr. Abdul Issaka-Bamba revealed that the Managing Director issued the directive to lock the terminal as McDan failed to repay the substantial debt.
Despite multiple reminders from the managing director, McDan has not taken any action to settle the outstanding amount, leading to the terminal’s closure.
The union fully supports the MD’s decision in this matter, considering it necessary. Moreover, this incident serves as a warning to other companies with pending payments to settle their arrears promptly to avoid similar consequences.
