The Ghana Meteorological Agency has advised persons living in low lying areas to move to high grounds. This is in anticipation of more rains especially in the coastal and forest areas, following this morning’s downpour in parts of Accra, that lasted more than five hours.
Deputy Director-in-charge –of-Forecast, Joseph Portuphy, advised the public to visit its website for the daily weather forecast to enable them to prepare ahead, as the major rainy season kicks in.
“What we are experiencing now is the minor rainy season. Definitely, we should be expecting more rains especially in the coastal and forest areas. We advise all those in low lying areas to move to higher grounds for the duration of the rains and then come back later. The roads may be slippery so drivers and pedestrians need to be extra careful during the period” Mr. Portuphy stated.
