The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has called on the Ministers of Finance, Agriculture and Education to schedule to brief the House on the challenge being faced by the Ghana National Food and Buffer Stock Company paying suppliers’ debts owed them.

Mr. Bagbin made the directive after some members had drawn the House’s attention to the vendors’ plight.

Vendors of the National Food Suppliers have been picketing the premises of the National Food Buffer Stock Company as of Monday, July 3, 2023.

The vendors are picketing due to the government’s failure to settle the over 2 years of arrears owed them.

Although Officials have appealed to the vendors to allow up until the 17th of July to receive payments, the vendors are adamant virtually spending day and night at the premises of the Buffer Stock Company.
