The National Identification Authority, NIA, has asked applicants who registered for the Ghana Card in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region to pick up their cards at its office at Sege.
It said there are more than 5000 cards ready for collection and urged the applicants in the District, who did not get their cards during the general and the mop-up exercises, to visit the office for them.
The District Registration Officer for Ada West, Stephen Kwabena Amponsah, called on those who could not register for the card during the general and mop-up exercises, to register at the office of the Authority.
He said the ongoing exercise was free of charge and applicants would also receive their cards timely.
Mr. Amponsah said patronage for the Ghana Card collection was however low and not encouraging.
The District Registration Officer said non-adherence to the stipulated and communicated time for registration and collection of cards was making the work of the authority difficult and pleaded with residents to comply.
