Morgan Ayawine is Industrial & Commercial Workers Union’s new General Secretary

The newly elected General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, Morgan Ayawine has said the rights of workers to join Trade Unions should be respected.

According to him, this is crucial to ensure peace and harmony at the workplace as well as ensure sustainable growth of the country.

Mr Ayawine said this at the 11th Quadrennial Conference of the ICU which was used to elect new Executives for the Union. Mr Ayawine, who was elected the new General Secretary is supported by six others, including Alhaji Nuru-Deen Alhassan as National Chairman, Paul Kofi Charway as National Vice Chairman, Emmanuel Baah Banimah as Deputy General Secretary in Charge of Operations, Samuel Ananga as Deputy General Secretary in Charge of Administration, Charles Kojo Yeboah as National First Trustee and Jemima Senaye-Bentum as National Second Trustee.

Mr Ayawine, while asking members to collaborate with the Unions, gave the assurance that his team will be dedicated to the cause of workers.
