Multisoft Foundation boosts healthcare with GHS 200,000 washroom facility donation to Nyive Health Centre

The philanthropic arm of the Multisoft Group of Companies, Multisoft Foundation, has donated a modern washroom facility to the Nyive Health Centre. The facility, which costs GHS 200,000, aims to improve hygiene, dignity, and quality of care for both patients and staff at the health center and enhance sanitary conditions in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and 6.

The Nyive Health Centre has long served the healthcare needs of the residents of Nyive and neighbouring communities in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region. Among its most pressing challenges was the lack of a proper washroom, which compelled both staff and patients to share a single, inadequate washroom.

The new washroom facility, funded at a cost of GHS 200,000, was provided in response to a request from the Ho Regional Health Directorate and Togbui Apasu III, the Mankrado of Nyive, to address this essential need.

The new facility, consisting of four washrooms and two bathrooms, is expected to ensure a cleaner, more comfortable environment for both patients and staff, thereby significantly improving sanitary conditions. This aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 3, which promotes Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 6, which advocates for Clean Water and Sanitation.

Mrs. Felicia Agbodan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Multisoft Group of Companies, highlighted that the gesture reflects the company’s commitment to supporting community well-being through corporate social responsibility. “This donation demonstrates our commitment to supporting community development and enhancing healthcare infrastructure,” she said.

“The donation of this GHS 200,000 washroom facility goes a long way to underscore our dedication to supporting community development and improving healthcare infrastructure. We are proud to contribute to the well-being of the people of Nyive and surrounding communities who rely on this health facility,” she added.

Rev. Mrs. Grace Lartey, Director of Multisoft Foundation, emphasised the foundation’s commitment to ensuring lasting benefits for local communities through targeted and impactful initiatives. “They informed us that their most urgent need was a washroom, as they only had one shared by both staff and patients—male and female alike,” she noted.

Rev. Mrs. Lartey explained how the washroom facility aligns with the foundation’s mission to elevate healthcare standards and support community welfare. “We all agreed that this situation was not ideal from a hygiene or sanitation perspective. This modern washroom facility will help prevent the incidence of diseases like cholera, which is currently affecting some parts of the country,” she added.

The Mankrado of Nyive, Togbui Apasu III, expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasising the positive impact it will have on healthcare standards in the community.

Mrs. Vivian Boah, Administrator for the Ho Municipal Health Directorate, also thanked the Multisoft Foundation for the gesture, stressing the importance of public-private partnerships in strengthening healthcare systems in the municipality. “This facility is more than just an upgrade; it reflects our shared commitment to improving patient care, ensuring infection prevention and control, and promoting hygiene and sanitation,” she remarked.

Through impactful partnerships like this, Multisoft Foundation has shown how corporate social responsibility can contribute to sustainable development, advancing a healthier, more dignified future for all.
