The Amir and leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Ghana, Muhammad Bin Salih, has appealed to Ghanaians to renew their faith and allegiance to Ghana as the nation prepares for elections in December.
He made the appeal after tens of thousands of guests attending the 58th Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community renewed their faith and pledged their allegiance to Allah and the Leader and Spiritual Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
The event climaxed the three-day Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Hampshire, UK. Amir Salih led a forty member delegation from Ghana to the Convention.
The Annual Convention is a platform for Ahmadiyya faithfuls to learn about Islam, deepen their understanding and connection with God, and promote the spirit of brotherhood. The symbolic act also serves to remind the faithfuls to reaffirm their commitment to serve humanity in the Ahmadiyya spirit of “love for all and hatred for none.”
Amir Salih, in an interview with GBC News after the Bai’at, emphasised the need for Ghanaians to renew their faith and allegiance to the nation in a similar manner to what Ahmadis to Allah and the Khalifa, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. He said obedience to the nation and its institutions is an act of faith, and Ghanaians should endeavour to bury their political and other interests for the sake of national development.
