Paramount Chief of the Assin Owirenkyi Traditional Area, Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI, has shared his ambitious vision for transforming Assin Kushea, already known as one of the neatest towns in Ghana and for its historical significance, into the “happiest town in Ghana.”

The Chief’s comments came during an interview with GTV Breakfast Show on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Nana Prah Agyensaim VI described the ongoing transformation within the community. “They’re all growing up, and they’re going to flourish. You’ll come and see, and it will be breathtaking,” he stated, expressing his optimism for the future of Assin Kushea.

He highlighted a specific initiative to improve the town’s aesthetics. “I even started giving some of them purple paint to paint their houses. If you have observed, the houses with purple paint stand out,” he explained. “From there, we’ve moved from neatness to prettiness, and ultimately, if I can achieve it even for just a week, I want to hear that the people of Kushea are the happiest in Ghana. Neatest, prettiest, happiest – that’s my goal. Otherwise, there was no point in my being here.”

Nana Prah Agyensaim VI also spoke about his desire to inspire others through his work in Assin Kushea. “How do I want to be remembered? I want to be remembered as someone who attempted to show possibilities. I want to be remembered as someone who had faith in the Ghanaian people and believed in their abilities,” he said. “Given the opportunity, I’ve demonstrated that with the little I had, I made a difference. That’s how I want to be remembered.”

The Chief’s vision for Assin Kushea extends beyond mere aesthetics, aiming to create a thriving and joyful community.
