The National Chief Imam answered general questions on his demography and household. He called on religious, emphasizing on Islamic heads to encourage their members to avail themselves to be enumerated.
The short exercise was witnessed by representatives of the national council Islamic leaders.
He commended the Ghana statistical service for plans put in place for people to be counted despite the challenges that are usually associated with such exercise
The spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheik Aremeyaw Shaibu, said apart from the Census that will be used for decision making by government, hence Muslims must endeavor to be part of the exercise to help Identify the percentage of Muslims in Ghana.
Head of the demographic statistics and coordinator of data for SDGs at the statistical service assured Ghanaians of confidentiality of their information provided during the census.
The exercise which began is expected to end on July 8.
