The National Service Secretariat has blocked some six hundred people who tried to impersonate and register for this year’s national service.

Executive Director of the National Service scheme Mustapha Ussif said but for the rebust system they have put in place this six hundred people would have gotten onto their database and be receiving allowances illegally.

Addressing journalists after a visit to some registration centres in the Greater Accra Region to observe the registration for the 2018-2019 service year,  Mr. Ussif said this has help to save the nation a lot of the tax payers money.

He said those are already working should not try to cheat the system by not disclosing that they are already in gainful employment.

He said those who will do that will be expose because the allowances of personnel will be worked on by the Controller and Accountant General Department and such persons will be dealt with according to due process.

He appealed to MMDAs and traditional authorities to assist service personnel posted to their regions and locality with accommodation to be able to serve the nation.
