Spouse inflicts cutlass wounds on Pregnant wife in Nchumuru District

Reports from Nchumuru District in the Oti Region indicate that a pregnant woman who was butchered by her husband on the farm is battling for life.

Madam Mesuna Adiza is battling for her life as a result of sustaining cutlass wounds.

According to reports, the incident occurred on the farm, when the two went to work on the land in the same Community.

Madam Mesuna Adiza was then rushed to the Banda Health Centre for emergency treatment.

Mr. Ibrahim Anas, husband of the victim and the suspect, has been handed over to the Ghana Police Service in Krachi Nchumuru for further investigations.

Assemblyman for the area, John Mpoesi Nteley, in an interview confirmed the incident, and said the victim sustained various degrees of injuries on the forehead, shoulder, stomach, and hand.

The Physician Assistant at the Banda Health Centre, Mr Godfred Atsu Kpodo, said the victim is responding to treatment.

The Ghana Police Service in the Krachi Nchumuru District, however, is yet to make formal pronouncements on the matter.
