In accordance with the directive from the office of the Ga Mantse, Elikplim Akurugu, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Dome-Kwabenya, has joined hands with Dome market traders for a clean-up exercise.

She and constituency executives joined the traders at about 5:00 am on Tuesday, 2nd July 2024 to undertake a clean-up exercise along the market streets. She was seen desilting choked gutters to ensure the free passage of water.

She also swept the streets and collected rubbish for dumping. This is in line with her heartfelt desire for a clean constituency devoid of filth.

The clean-up exercise formed part of activities lined up by Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, ahead of this year’s Homowo Festival celebrations

During the event, Elikplim took the opportunity to advise everyone present to maintain cleanliness to prevent outbreaks of diseases such as cholera.

She also advocated for the 24-hour economy policy championed by former President John Mahama, the NDC flagbearer.

She reiterated His Excellency John Mahama’s commitment to making Accra a clean city upon his return to power.

According to her Spokesperson, Makafui Klutsey “the well-attended clean-up saw various market representatives, NDC party sympathizers, and members of the community come together to rid the market area of filth.

Elikplim Akurugu was accompanied by some constituency executives, Dome East and West Ward Coordinators and several NDC members from across the constituency”.
