The Ghana Evangelical Mission Association (GEMA) held its handing over and induction service ceremony under the theme “The Whole Gospel from the Whole Church to the Whole World: The Role of GEMA – Acts 1:8.”

This significant event, aimed at uniting both indigenous and foreign mission organizations in Ghana, underscored GEMA’s commitment to enhancing the missionary efforts of the Ghanaian church.

In his inaugural speech, the newly inducted President of GEMA, Dr. Godwin Kofi Ahlijah, outlined a visionary roadmap encapsulated in three powerful words: Unite, Rekindle, and Send. Dr. Ahlijah emphasized the critical necessity of unity among churches and mission agencies, stating, “We believe that our strength lies in our unity.

” It’s amazing what we can achieve if we put aside our personal glory and hold hands as mission agencies, local churches, and denominations”, he said.

He also highlighted the need to rekindle reliance on the Holy Spirit for effective missionary work, pointing out that contemporary comforts often overshadow commitment to missions.

“Today, we have countless excuses when the Lord calls us to the mission field. We need to return to the power of the Holy Spirit that empowers us to move forward without looking back,” Dr. Ahlijah urged.

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, echoed these sentiments, stressing the transformative power of the gospel and urging church leaders to step out of their comfort zones to actively evangelize. “The gospel has the power to change lives and bring transformation. We must move beyond our auditoriums and take the gospel to those who have not heard it,” Apostle Obuobi challenged.

Apostle Obuobi formally inducted the newly elected executives of GEMA into office, including Vice President Eugene Yakohene, Secretary Yesutor Gumeni, and Treasurer Richess Okai. Other notable executive members are Toni Tiyumba Lauder, Rev. Kumah Doe, and Samuel Kofi Asiamah.

The induction service, marked by spiritual fervor and solemnity, was attended by numerous dignitaries and congregants who witnessed this momentous occasion. This event signifies a new era of leadership for GEMA, promising to steer the association towards greater spiritual and organizational heights.
