The National Identification Authority, NIA, has started printing the backlog of 541,529 cards, which dates back to July 2022.
The printing of the cards was suspended due to financial constraints.
A statement issued by the NIA, said the resumption of the printing follows the payment of 100 million cedis by government to CalBank PLC, which ensured the release of blank cards to the Authority.
The statement said the printing of the cards is expected to last for 11 days, after which they will be made available at the Regional and District Offices nationwide.
Persons who registered since July 2022 will then go to the NIA offices for the cards to be issued to them.
