The National Lotteries Authority, NLA has reiterated its readiness to facilitate the unionisation of its workers.

The NLA management recently signed onto guidelines governing the Standing Negotiation Committee with the Financial Business and  Services Employees Union, FBSEU, Union of Industry, Commerce and Finance, UNICOF and the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, ICU.

This represents a significant step forward regarding the unionisation of NLA workers with their right to join either the FBSEU, UNICOF or ICU.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the NLA says a report has been sent to the National Labour Commission on the matter.

The Financial Business and Services Employees Union had earlier alleged that management of the NLA was interfering in union matters and had threatened to go on strike.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the General Secretary of the FBSEU, Benjamin Mingle said there are other outstanding issues which need attention.
