NPC commends Asantehene”s role in ensuring peace in the country.

A delegation from the National Peace Council, NPC has called on the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu at the Manhyia Palace, to commend him on his role in ensuring peace in the country.

Chairman of the Council, Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante, commended Otumfour for his efforts at maintaining peace, and also contributing towards development in Asanteman and Ghana as a whole.

He cited Otumfour’s efforts in resolving crisis in areas such as Dagbon in the Northern Region,Tafo, Atwima Foase and Asawasi, all in the Ashanti Region.

The Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu for his part, assured the National Peace Council of his support to their mandate.

He said a peaceful country attracts more investors which promote growth in every aspect of the economy.

Otumfour Osei Tutu, observed that for Ghana to enjoy peace, it is imperative for everyone to be truthful, devoid of political bias.

The National Peace Council presented to the Asantehene, copies of the NPC Act, a study on the NPC conducted by the Commonwealth, a guide to mediation, as well as other reading materials.
