The Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri and the Majority Chief Whip of Parliament, Frank Annoh Dompreh has cut sod for the construction of a new maternity block at the Nsawam government hospital to expand the infrastructure development of the facility.

Speaking during the sod-cutting ceremony, Mr. Annoh Dompreh noted that securing funds to commence the project became a challenge and he has to dedicate his entire health fund towards the project. He noted that his efforts to secure funds from private companies proved futile, pointing out that only the National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA came to their aid.

Mr. Annoh Dompreh hence pleaded with the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu to help complete the project and also advised the contractors to make good use of the resources given to them in order to complete the project on time.

The Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Chief Executive, Isaac Kwadwo Buabeng added that, they will monitor the work of the contractors and offer them the needed support to ensure they complete the project within the stipulated time.

A Representative from the Eastern Regional Health Directorate, Gordon Anafo noted that the indicators from the region show Nsawam Government Hospital is performing creditably. Mr. Anafo showed appreciation to the MP, Mr. Annoh Dompreh for making it possible because it will help them take good care of the mothers and the babies.
