The Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency who doubles as the Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh Dompreh has donated reading books to the St. Johns Anglican School at Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
In presenting the items to the school, Annoh-Dompreh encouraged teachers of the school to ensure that the students read the books by assisting them where they are faced with some difficulty in pronunciation.
He assured them of his regular visit to the school to check on how the students and the teachers are patronizing the books. In an interview with GBC News, the Parish Priest of St. Johns Divine Anglican Church at Nsawam and the Local Manager of the Anglican Schools, Rev. Canon Samuel Benjamin Anim, expressed gratitude to Mr. Annoh-Dompreh for the kind gesture and urged others to emulate him as the central government alone cannot champion the delivery of quality education in the country.
Rev. Canon Anim stressed the need for leadership skills like Mr. Annoh-Dompreh in society to support the quality delivery of education in the constituency and the country as a whole. Calling on all stakeholders to come on board to support the school, he advised parents to ensure that their wards utilize the books.
The School Improvement Support Officer, SISO at Gyankrom B Circuit, Frederick Nana Mensah addressing the media noted that, since his assumption into office over a decade now, the MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri has been working assiduously beyond his imagination, especially in the education sector in the constituency.
He mentioned that the MP has contributed to the building of libraries, sanitary facilities, computer laboratories and classrooms among others. Mr. Mensah assured the MP that he will regularly go round to inspect the books and urged the teachers to help the students to read the books.
