The Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, has emphasized that, NSS placements are specifically tailored to align with the field of study of each service personnel.
In an interview on the GTV breakfast Show concerning the new release of the Nation’s Service Scheme postings, he explained the procedure further and outlined the steps taken to ensure appropriate placements.
“The NSS starts by obtaining class lists from various universities, categorizing individuals based on their acquired skills and specialized studies. This classification serves as the foundation for matching service personnel with user agencies,” He stated.
According to him, the NSS strives to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that service personnel can contribute meaningfully to their assigned roles.
He further stated that, at the end of each service cycle or season, the NSS actively engages with user agencies, seeking their input on specific needs or areas requiring additional support.
Also through this meticulous approach, the scheme ensures that every service person has the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to their assigned field.
“It’s is not just that we pick up and post anywhere,” he affirmed, underscoring the precision and care with which placements are made.
The careful consideration and matching of skills to industry demands underscore the NSS’s commitment to facilitating a productive and enriching service year for all participants.
