The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, has called off its strike.
Addressing the media, President of the Association, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, said their decision follows a court order secured by the National Labour Commission
The Nurses and Midwives, started the strike on Monday, following Government’s failure to address certain demands by the Association.
Among other things, the Association requested for allowances for Rent, Uniform, Transport and Professional Development, with the argument, that it will help address pertinent needs and improve the lives of Nurses, as well as service delivery.
Although there had been numerous meetings between Executives of the Association, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders, the issue had remained unresolved leading to the strike.
Meanwhile, negotiations are expected to resume between the Leadership of GRNMA, Government and the National Labour Commission.
