The Jubilee Offshore Field Manager in-charge of the Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading vessel, FPSO Kwame Nkrumah, Bruce Tait, says challenges with the FPSO’s turret bearing have been completely resolved.

He said the issue was fixed with an industry groundbreaking innovation, placing it in a safe location after the damaged bearing was replaced.

Mr Bruce Tait said this during an interaction with journalists on a trip to Kwame Nkrumah as part a three-part Tullow Ghana funded training program in the fundamentals of oil and gas for the selected journalists to further enhance their reportage on the Petroleum industry.

GBC’s Western Regional Correspondent, Marie Aziz Tunde, one of the five selected journalists for the training reports that it was therefore not out of place for TULLOW Ghana Limited, a leader in the Oil and Gas Industry to build the capacity of some journalists to adequately report on their operations both onshore and offshore.

Capacity building refers to the process by which individuals and organizations obtain, improve, and retain the skills, knowledge, tools, equipment and other resources needed to do their jobs competently.

This can be done using training centres, exposure visits, office and documentation support, on-job training, learning centres, and consultation and this minimize an over-reliance on outside experts as sources of knowledge, resources, and solutions.
