The Ghana Union of Traders has appealed to the Attorney General and Interpol to find an International arbitration and legal system to help victims who fall prey to stolen vehicles shipped to Ghana.

President of the GUTA, Dr. Joseph Obeng also added the need to help retrieve the money of victims as they are mostly third-party buyers.

Speaking at a sensitisation workshop in Accra to find ways of preventing innocent automobile dealers from incurring losses as a result of crime they may not be directly involved in Dr. Obeng said much as there may be some recalcitrant dealers, the majority of these dealers are more victims than culprits.

He called for an effective mechanism that would help address the menace.

General Secretary of the Chamber of Automobile Dealership Ghana, George Dumenu, also urged state institutions to engage stakeholders to be abreast of how to address issues relating to stolen vehicles.
