Kofi Kapito, CEO of the Consumer Protection Agency, has called on John Dumelo, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, to prioritize agricultural reforms in Parliament, given Dumelo’s background and expertise as a farmer.
Speaking on GTV’s Breakfast Show this morning, Kapito emphasized that Dumelo, known for his acting career and agricultural ventures, is uniquely positioned to advocate for policies that benefit Ghana’s agricultural sector and its consumers.
Kapito stated that Dumelo’s presence in Parliament should be driven by a commitment to advancing agriculture, saying “You go to Parliament to make sure that the policies will favor your profession.” He encouraged the MP to push for reforms where the government is falling short, leveraging his understanding of the industry to enhance agriculture and benefit Ghanaians.
Kapito added that Dumelo’s background as both an actor and a farmer gives him a unique platform to champion his area of expertise in Parliament. He even suggested that Dumelo could one day be a strong candidate for the position of Minister of Agriculture.
