The Ad hoc Committee of Parliament set up by the Speaker of Parliament to investigate the Akosombo Dam Spillage Disaster has ended a four-day tour of the affected areas to understand and address the impact.

The Committee, chaired by the Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano North, Suleman Adamu Sanid, toured communities such as Mepe, Mafi, Sogakope, and Dambai where significant devastation was caused.

Speaking to GBC NEWS, an Ad-hoc Committee Member, who is also the MP for Krachi West, Helena Adjoa Ntoso, said although the committee is yet to finalise its report and it will, among other things, demand proper resettlement of the victims, as the distribution of relief items has been woefully inadequate.
