The National Peace Council has commenced engagements with some statesmen, influential figures, and leaders of the two major political parties to prevent disruptions in Parliament following the Supreme Court’s decision to halt Speaker Alban Bagbin’s ruling, which had declared four seats vacant.

In an interview with GBC News, Executive Secretary of the Council, George Amoh, expressed optimism that the engagements with the political stakeholders will help to de-escalate the tension.

He urged the Majority and Minority, as well as the judiciary, to rise to the challenge to safeguard the country’s democracy.
