Presiding Bishop, Christ White House Chapel International, Rev. Dr. Samuel Mensah has commended Rev. Owusu Bempah for paying a visit to the National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Sharubutu and apologizing to him on his public prophesy with regards to his death.
He said that Rev. Owusu Bempah has demonstrated maturity and that his action must put the matter to rest.
He made this commendation in an interview on Radio Ghana’s Current Affairs Programme ‘Behind The News’ Thursday, January 10, 2019.
Rev. Samuel Mensah said not all prophesies are meant for public consumption or should be told to the victims even as God reveals.
He advised that it could have been better for him to break the news personally to the Chief Imam and other victims of prophesies which is more professional instead of making it public.
He explained that, the mode of delivery of the message could also have caused the problems for Rev. Owusu Bempah. He added that at the end of it all, it should not just be about the prophesy, but the channel through which it will be delivered, must be done carefully.
He said that no one can impose his religious beliefs on others, particularly with regards to people who do not share the same faith.
The Presiding Bishop said prophesies can be good or bad because it is God’s message, but not possible for men of God to always receive negative prophesies.
He said people have problems with prophets who always prophesy negatively because God does not always curse but blesses too.
He said most of the upcoming charismatic pastors are illiterates which is the reason why they are not able to handle these issues professionally.
Rev. Mensah said moving forward, prophets should not repeat such mistakes, but must act with code of ethics as far as the ministry is concerned and learn how best to deal with the church.
BACKGOUND
The founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry, Rev. Owusu Bempah on the December 31, 2018, declared some prophesies of the death of the National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Sharubutu, the Vice President, Mahamadu Bawumia which flooded the social media.
The doomsday prophesies by Rev. Owusu Bempah resulted in an attack by a group of angry youth who vandalized the South Odorkor Branch of his church.
