Maame Samma Peprah has assumed duty as the Acting Registrar of Companies (ROC) in Accra on Monday, 17 March 2024.
This follows a brief ceremony where Mrs Jemima M. Oware, the outgoing Registrar of Companies, handed over the leadership of the institution to her.
Handing over, Mrs. Oware expressed gratitude to the Management of the ORC for their cooperation and support, which helped to chalk significant successes during her tenure as registrar, which spanned from March 2022 to February 2025.
She encouraged management to offer the needed support for the new registrar to enable her to build on the gains made.
Mrs Oware assured her successor of her commitment to support at any given opportunity and called for collaboration and annual engagement between the Registrar and directorates to better understand and appreciate the work ahead.
Also in a brief remark, Maame Samma Peprah expressed her appreciation to management for the warm reception accorded her and also the cordiality from her predecessor.
She called for teamwork and collaboration at every level with management and other staff in order to better serve the greater interest of the organisation.
The new registrar indicated her readiness to tap into the rich expertise and experience of Mrs Oware in order to build upon the legacy she leaves behind at the organisation and expressed her gratitude to the former ROC for her pledge to support in that regard.
PROFILE OF MRS MAAME SAMMA PEPRAH
Maame Samma Peprah (Mrs.) is a seasoned legal and corporate governance professional with extensive expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance and strategic leadership.
She holds an LL.M in Oil and Gas Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, a Barrister-at-Law qualification from the Ghana School of Law and an LLB from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Her professional career includes pivotal roles in both the public and private sectors, having contributed her expertise to esteemed institutions such as Cenpower Generation Ltd., LawTrust Company, the Attorney-General’s Department, and the Legal Aid Board.
She also contributes to academia as an adjunct lecturer at the GIMPA Law Faculty.
Additionally, her expertise extends to stakeholder engagement, where she effectively navigates complex legal landscapes to foster strategic partnerships and operational success.
She has developed a robust skill set in legal advisory, corporate governance, and policy development.
As the newly appointed acting Registrar of Companies, she remains committed to ensuring efficiency, transparency and the highest standard of service at the Companies Registry.
