The Government of Ghana will launch a Performance Tracker, intended to promote transparency and accountability in the execution of infrastructure projects across the country, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
The event, which will be graced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will be held at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra.
The tracker aims to address longstanding concerns regarding the accuracy and reliability of project presentations, especially the use of artist’s impressions to depict final outcomes.
It will serve as a dependable mechanism for showcasing the progress and impact of infrastructure projects, fostering trust and confidence among citizens.
The Performance Tracker also seeks to promote transparency, aiming to address citizens’ frustrations with delays and accountability gaps in infrastructure development.
Through this tool, constituents will have the ability to track project progress and hold the government accountable for the proper allocation and execution of public funds.
Government officials and infrastructure development stakeholders have expressed their support for the Performance Tracker, recognising it as a significant stride towards realising the government’s vision for efficient and effective project implementation.
