Czech President Petr Pavel has urged business leaders at the Czech-Ghana Business Cooperation Seminar in Accra to harness courage, vision, and goodwill as the driving forces behind meaningful progress in strengthening ties between the two nations.
“The reality is not so much given by figures but by people — people with courage, with vision, and goodwill,” President Pavel stated, underscoring the importance of these qualities in advancing any collaborative effort. He emphasized that true progress is not just about statistics but about the individuals who take initiative and lead with purpose. “I hope that this room is full of people with these qualities because it really requires courage to move things forward,” he added.
The Czech president also acknowledged the role of politicians in setting the stage for successful partnerships, stating, “We, politicians, have it easier. We open the door if we have goodwill. And we create conditions. The rest is up to you.” He further assured the participants that both he and Ghana’s President John Mahama share a common commitment to fostering an environment of cooperation and opportunity for both nations.

“Both President Mahama and I have the goodwill to open the door wide and to create the best possible conditions for you to go further,” President Pavel said, calling on the business leaders present to capitalize on this moment and push forward with tangible results. He also encouraged both Ghanaian and Czech entrepreneurs to build on the foundation of friendship and mutual respect that was evident during the seminar.
“Let me encourage you to do your best to transition from goodwill to concrete results, and we will help you achieve these results,” he continued, reinforcing the importance of transforming good intentions into real, impactful action.

President Pavel expressed his confidence in the future of the Ghana-Czech partnership, wishing all attendees success in their endeavors and reiterating the Czech Republic’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s economic development.
President Pavel’s call for collaboration, driven by courage, vision, and a shared commitment to success, sets the stage for a new era in the Ghana-Czech partnership—one built on mutual respect and the potential for tangible economic growth.
