Plan Int. Ghana gets new Country Director

Plan International Ghana, an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) which has been working in Ghana for 30 years to support children, particularly the most marginalised, to exercise their rights, gets a new Country Director.

The new Country Director, Mr. Constant Tchona takes over from Mr. Solomon TesfaMariam who led the Plan International Ghana team for a five (5)-year term.

Under the leadership of Solomon TesfaMariam, Plan International advanced the discourse on inclusivity, Girls and women’s rights championing, and equality in partnership with Government agencies, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and similar INGOs.

According to Plan Ghana, the strategic vision of Mr. Tchona who is going to lead the team for the next 5 years of service is to ensure that the rights of girls are fully protected, consolidate the gains of the program, and build the humanitarian space, grow quality income and finally to make sure Plan International Ghana remain a responsive organization.

Plan International Ghana has over the years improved the effectiveness of child sponsorship in the most disadvantaged communities. It is also flexible in mobilising resources through grant funding to reach other marginalised communities and influence national policymakers and traditional influencers to position Plan International Ghana as a truly national organisation.

Plan Ghana implementing its new country strategy, will be implementing more human-centered and child-friendly programmes and influencing community and individual well-being in the north, south, and middle belt of the country.
