In search of sustainable means of protecting the forest and its resources, a Ghanaian scientist, Peterson Osei Bonsu has developed an innovative Fufu pounding pestle.

This is expected to substantially reduce the number of plant species harvested purposely to pound Fufu in the country.

In the following report by GBC’s Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Nicholas Osei-Wusu, a Research Scientist at the Forestry Research Institute of Ghana says already some of the plant species for both pestle and mortar have become endangered due to their conversion to a pounding tool.
