Three people, suspected to be kidnappers have been arrested by the Eastern Regional Police Command at Ayisikrom in the Suhum Municipality.
According to the Regional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent David Gyabaa, two of the suspects, whose ages were given as 22 and 27, were arrested on Sunday evening in the bush at Ayisikrom, while the third suspect was arrested around Suhum. He said, about six other suspects managed to escape during the police swoop on the area after a tip-off.
Chief Superintendent Gyabaa disclosed that two victims, who are both males, aged 26 and 34 years were rescued on the scene and are currently undergoing medical treatment and counselling.
They will assist the Police in investigations after recovery.
Chief Superintendent Gyabaa however declined to disclose the names and nationality of the suspects.
