The Ghana Police Service has declared a male suspect wanted after a viral video surfaced showing him threatening to shoot and harm public officials.
The suspect, who identifies himself as “Commander Kanawu, Revolution Leader,” makes threats against key figures, including Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare; Interior Minister, Henry Quartey; Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, and others.
In the video, the suspect accused the IGP and Interior Minister of orchestrating false police recruitments in the Ashanti Region to manipulate the upcoming elections.
He declared 2024 a “year of violence” and uses the phrase “All Die be Die” while threatening violence against public officials and anyone who stands in their way.
The police have offered a reward of GH¢50,000 to anyone who provides relevant and credible information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
The public is urged to come forward with any information that can aid in the suspect’s capture.
