The Ghana Police Service has refuted claims that it uses landguards to reclaim and protect lands belonging to the service. The service described the accusations as false, baseless, and unfounded.
A statement said the Police have not, on any occasion, engaged the services of languards to reclaim or protect their lands. On the contrary, it has in recent times intensified its anti-languard operations in communities affected by the activities of these landguards.
This renewed effort, the statement said, will not stop until perpetrators of such illegal activities are brought to justice.
The statement signed by Director of Police Public Affairs, ACP Grace Ansah Akrofi, assured the public that the Service, working in partnership with other security agencies, remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety and security at all times.
