The Ghana Police Service has moved some of its senior personnel to other offices with Commissioner of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh, appointed the new Deputy Inspector- General of Police.
The position of Deputy IGP had been vacant for years since the last Deputy IGP, Mohammed Alhassan went on retirement.
In a tweeted statement signed by the Director-General of police Public Affairs, David Eklu showed 14 reassignments.
Commissioner of Police COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, who was Director General of Police in charge of Police Professional Standards Bureau, has been moved to replace COP Dr. George Dampare as Director General in charge of Research and Planning.
COP Dr. George Akufo Dampare has been moved to the position of Director General of Police in charge of welfare.
COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, who is the Director General of Police Intelligence has been moved to the position of Director General of police in charge of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department.
COP Prosper Agblor, who was the Director General in charge of welfare has also been appointed Director General in charge of Legal and Prosecutions.
