The Accra Regional Police Command has warned that it will soon commence series of operations to rid child beggars off the streets of the Capital.
Streets in major parts of Accra such as Madina, Osu, Ridge, Achimota and Lapaz have been inundated with child beggars most of whom are believed to be nationals of other West African countries.
Speaking to GBC NEWS, the Director of Operations at the Accra Regional Command, ACP Kwesi Ofori described the menace as a nuisance.
He said the Police will work hand in hand with the Gender Ministry on the operation and appealed for support from the media.
