The Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng, in collaboration with the Local Council of Churches in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital, has organised a Thanksgiving Service to offer praise to God for his mercies and guidance since his enstoolment as the traditional leader of the area on June 22nd last year.

The programme was graced with leaders and members of the various churches, traditional chiefs, and opinion leaders, members of the traditional area, leaders of the Islamic community, and political leaders in the region, among others.

The Koforidua District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Ascension Congregation, Rev. Justice Kwame Asumeng, giving the sermon on the theme, “Oh Magnify the Lord with Me,” advised Ghanaians to honour one another, especially leaders who are in charge of society. He further advised Christians not to be scared when confronted with challenges in life, since there is no opportunity without a challenge.

Rev. Kwame Asumeng urged the Omanhene to help create opportunities for the youth in order to unearth their full potential, promote development, and bring glory to the traditional area. The Reverend Minister entreated politicians not to see their opponents as enemies but as rivals who criticised them constructively for the benefit of the country.

Rev. Kwame Asumeng encouraged the people not to disappoint the Omanhene in his quest to promote development in the traditional area and urged them to rather protect and support the Omanhene to be successful as the leader of the traditional area. The Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng, urged the people to be united in order to deliver the development that New Juaben requires.

He advised drivers and motorcyclists to refrain from overspeeding to reduce the accident rate in the region.

The New Juaben South Municipal Chief Executive, Isaac Appau Gyasi, urged the youth to be patient with the government as the government is putting in place policies to help in the development of the youth and bring the economy back on track. He further urged parents to educate their wards and most especially enroll them in technical and vocational education and training, or TVET, schools to enhance the skills of their wards. Mr. Appau Gyasi added that, as a result of accommodating such students, the government is building TVET schools across the country that will aid in skill-based training of the youth.
