The Prampram Divisional Police Command has arrested five suspects in the robbery and murder of a 70 year old Chinese, Quran Yang Aiang.
They are 27 year old electrician at Afloa, Sebastian Hukpotie, Noah Sokpui alias Bell Boss, 29 years from Agbozume and a mechanic, Alhassan Isaaka also known as Alazanzo from Togo but lives in Ashaiman.
The rest are 27 year old Ashaiman driver, Fuseini Hamidu, a native of Bawku and a factory hand operator also from Bawku but resident in Community Four, Jacob Anyare also known as Taller. However a notorious suspect, who masterminded the act, is on the run.
According to Police the robbery took place at TT Quarry in Bundase, a suburb of Dawhenya on the April 1, 2019, at 2pm.
Speaking with Obonu News, the Police said the suspects allegedly gathered security personnel and drivers on duty and locked them up in a room.
They then demanded 120-thousand Ghana Cedis but managed to take only 20-thousand Ghana Cedis from the deceased.
The Devtraco Police on different operations managed to arrest the suspects, four of whom have been arraigned before Court with the last suspect, scheduled to appear in Court on Friday.
The Prampram Divisional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent, Cecilia Arko, said the notorious armed robber, who is at large has organized so many robbery operations but manages to get bail when arrested and arraigned before Court.
She said the suspect who was discharged from Court last March was able to master mind the Chinese murder operations few weeks after his bail out.
The Prampram Divisional Police Commander, ACP Godact Dodzi Hlordzi, advised residents to be on the lookout for such suspects and give any available information about the suspect, to the Devtraco Police.
Meanwhile the body of the murdered Chinese has been handed over to the family who has flown it back to China for burial.
