A special valedictory service and thanksgiving has been held for the District Minister of the Accra Newtown Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Michael Gabriel Anim-Tetey, as he retires from active service after 41 years as a Reverend Minister of PCG.
Rev. Anim-Tetey, who began his full-time ministry in July 2002 and was commissioned in July 2004, has served the Church in various congregations.
Recounting his journey in Ministry, Rev. Anim-Tetey said the journey has not been easy, but through prayers he surmounted the challenges.
Preaching on the theme “Stand Firm”, Rev. Anim-Tetey urged the congregation to be steadfast in the Lord regardless of the challenges.
“It is important to stand firm. There may be challenges, persecution, near-death experiences, but stand firm. Be rooted in the Word of God, be grounded in faith and prayer, and be each other’s keeper. If you do this, it shall be well with you.
Focus on building legacies and strategies of success for generations unborn,” he noted.
Rev. Anim-Tetey entreated the congregation to endeavour to bear fruits for the kingdom of God.
“Focus on bearing fruits that will last, Focus on the eternal impact on the people you come in contact with and God will be your helper. Spirituality goes with honour and humility, without these, you cannot please God. Press on and do not be swayed by the challenges of yesterday, strive to achieve something that you will be remembered for,” he added.
Rev. Anim-Tetey expressed gratitude to God for sustaining him through the highs and lows of ministry. He also thanked his family, friends, and all others who contributed to his success story for their unflinching support and love throughout his service.
The service brought together special dignitaries, including the immediate past Moderator of PCG, Very Rev. Prof JOY Mante, and the Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery, Rev. Col. (rtd) David Adoteye Asare. There were song ministrations by ASP Kofi Sarpong and the Military Band, among others.
A citation was presented to Rev. Michael Gabriel Anim-Tetey on behalf of the District Session Council, among others.
