Winners of this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) have presented their trophy to President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.
Presbyterian Boys Secondary, PRESEC, Legon who were crowned six times Champions this year have been without a trophy for a decade.
President Akufo-Addo congratulated the contestants on their sterling performance. He described the School as one of the best in the country.
The President said government has stepped up efforts to develop Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) education from the basic level with a target of 60% enrollment at Technical institutions.
He said 9,000 basic school teachers are being trained to provide quality STEM education while almost 4,500 basic schools are being provided with science equipment to improve STEM education at the basic level.
