The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says in his second term in office, there will be massive development in the road sector countrywide.
At the inauguration of a Business Resource Centre at Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West region on day one of his visit, President Akufo-Addo said the government plans to asphalt one thousand five hundred Kilometres of roads to improve on transportation of goods and services.
For the president, his visit to the municipality is to thank the people of the Sissla East for voting for him and the parliamentary candidate of the area, Mr. Hamidu Issahaku Chinnia, in the 2020 general election. He said it also afforded him the opportunity to touch base with the people to listen to their concerns as well as hand over completed projects.
In this regard, the President has handed over a Business Resource Centre to facilitate access to business information and promotion in the area.
On behalf of the paramount chief of Tumu, Kuoro Richard BabiniKanton, Mr. Mohammed Kanton commended the government for the numerous development projects the municipality has benefited from in the last four years. He however appealed to the government to speed up work on road projects which have delayed in getting complete
President Akufo-Addo said road infrastructure is critical in national development. He said this explains why his government in the first term in office asphalted one thousand two hundred kilometres of road.
President AkufoAddosaid the Sissala East Municipality will benefit from the next one thousand five hundred asphalting of roads that will be executed in the next four years.
