President Akufo-Addo has given the assurance that government will fix the deplorable eastern corridor road to ease the socio-economic challenges facing communities situated along the corridor. This was after the President inspected the Have-Asikuma stretch of the road during the final lap of his working tour of the Volta Region.
At a durbar at Kpeve in the South Dayi District, the Paramount Chief of Peki, Deiga Kwodwo Dei said the road has become a death trap which is impeding the growth of businesses and lives of the people.
Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwaku Amoako Atta said that the eastern corridor road will be completed by the end of next year.
President Akufo-Addo pledged to ensure that the Ministry of Roads and Highways execute work on all abandoned and deplorable road networks in the country including the eastern corridor road.
The President earlier met the chiefs and people of Ho West, and commissioned classroom and dormitory facilities at the Vakpo Senior High and Vakpo Senior High Technical schools in the North Dayi District.
