President John Dramani Mahama has stated that the decisions made today will determine the future of Ghana’s economy, steering it towards resilience, prosperity, and inclusivity.
Speaking at the opening of the National Economic Dialogue (NED) in Accra, President Mahama highlighted the pivotal role these discussions will play in charting a sustainable path for the nation’s growth.
The two-day event, which commenced today, 3rd March 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), brings together key figures, including government officials, economists, business leaders, development partners and other stakeholders in economics and finance. Their aim is to deliberate on practical solutions to Ghana’s ongoing economic challenges and lay the foundation for long-term stability and growth.
Under the theme “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together,” the dialogue offers a platform for these diverse stakeholders to contribute insights into critical issues such as macroeconomic stability, job creation, and private sector development as stated by President Mahamanin his inaugural speech. He believes the current economic challenges, though significant, can be overcome through collective action.
“The choices we make now will determine the trajectory of our economy for generations to come,” he said, urging participants to focus on policies that promote growth, transparency, and accountability.
The president also addressed the need for structural reforms that empower the private sector, enhance economic governance, and ensure equitable distribution of economic benefits across all sectors of society.
The dialogue, which continues tomorrow, is seen as a step for Ghana to take decisive steps toward a more prosperous and inclusive future.
