The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly and Royal Planners Event and Management have launched a programme dubbed KOFEST 2023 in Koforidua in the Eastern Region to promote tourism.
The programme will be held during the Christmas festivities to boost the local economy.
Speaking at the launch, Assembly Member of Okorase Electoral Area, Charles Adu said the celebration will help foster togetherness, boost local pride, showcase talents, skills, and creativity in the region.
He noted that over the years, communities in Koforidua have achieved a lot through participation in such activities and they have accomplished so much in the region.
Mr. Adu hinted that there will be a MISS KOFEST 23, which will be supported by the Ministry of Education and Tourism Art and Culture that will give winners the opportunity to further educate the youth at the second cycle institutions as ambassadors to promote education on topics such as peer pressure and teenage pregnancy in the region.
The Chief Executive Officer of Boafo Herbal, Dr. Osei Opoku who is one of the partners of the KOFEST 2023 Funfair Festival, encouraged other corporate bodies in the region to come together to support the festival to make it a success.
Dr. Opoku advised the youth to participate in the funfair in modesty, respect and decency.
