Rainstorm renders 700 homeless at Yapei

At least 700 residents from three communities at Yapei in the Central Gonja district of the Savannah region have been hit by a rainstorm.

Several properties running into millions of Ghana cedis have also been destroyed.

Most residents have been rendered homeless; however, no casualties have been recorded. The affected communities include, Yapei, Sangkpala and Kusawgu.

In an interview with the media, the Central Gonja District Operation Officer of NADMO, Alhandu Alhassan, said officials from the district office have been on the ground assessing the level of destruction to enable them to reach out to victims.
