The Upper East Regional Minister Doantus Akamugri has reiterated his commitment to maintain an open-door policy towards all minority political parties in the region. Emphasizing the importance of teamwork, the minister stressed the important roles each individual plays in achieving the mandate of the Regional Coordinating Council.
He encouraged staff to feel comfortable discussing issues with him, assuring them of his open-door policy to foster effective communication and problem-solving. Mr. Akamugri made these remarks when he engaged with heads of departments in the Upper East Region.
“I’m going to be a listener and probably solicit your support to be able to deliver. If I deceive myself that I know all because I’m the regional minister, then I’m bound to fall. This administration under me will be an open one. But I can assure you that no victimization would be entertained as long as you perform your responsibilities. But if you put impediments on my way, I will have to clear them,” He remarked.
It was the first meeting since Mr. Donatus Akamugri assumed office barely a week ago. The meeting which was aimed at interacting with the various heads of departments, was also used to explain his vision in transforming the region and encouraging the workers to contribute their quota for the realization of the resetting agenda of President John Dramani Mahama.

“Elections are over and it’s now about business. If you want to be a developmental agent, it behooves on you to make sure that you do not play politics with your job. I’m not here to be looking for people with political lenses. There is a job here for us to do. When you’re performing in your job, I have no problem with you. My problem will be when you take the opportunity and try to prevent the implementation of certain policies,” Mr. Akamugri stressed.
Mr. Akamugri reiterated his commitment to continuity and progress in advancing the ministry’s mission. He encouraged staff to feel comfortable discussing issues with him, assuring them of his open-door policy to foster effective communication and problem-solving and urging everyone to work diligently toward achieving the goals of the RCC.
Issues like inadequate staff, lack of vehicles and logistical constraints were among the top concerns raised by the various heads of departments that militate against progress in their various offices.
The Minister promised to collaborate with the Chief Director at the RCC to address their challenges. With this collaborative approach, the minister aims to create a positive and productive work environment, ensuring that peace and security remain at the forefront of government efforts.
