As part of efforts to aid Africa’s transition from the use of fossil fuels to renewable energy by 2030, countries have been urged to look inward to mobilize resources or funds to complement foreign aid, if any.
A Professor of Sustainable Finance at the European University Institute, Kenneth Amaeshi said the African continent must harness its rich resources to generate the needed funds to help in the transition agenda.
Speaking at climate finance for the sustainable energy transition in Africa program in Accra, Professor Amaeshi said “Skills acquisition, development of new technologies or renewable energy solutions can borne out of the African Continental Free Trade Area AFCFTA“.
