The Lead Pastor of Cedar Mountain Chapel and General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has called on Ghanaians to prioritize prayer and devote more time to this essential spiritual practice.
Speaking under the theme “Transforming the Nation Through Prayer” (2 Chronicles 7:14) during the church’s Ghana Day celebration, Rev. Wengam emphasized that prayer is not only a personal duty but also a biblical mandate crucial for the nation’s progress.
The event, held at Cedar Mountain Chapel in East Legon, Accra, brought together local congregants and 25 American missionaries from Calvary’s Love Assemblies of God in New York, led by Senior Pastor Rev. Jerod.
The American team is in Ghana to partner with Cedar Mountain Chapel in evangelizing East Legon and establishing two new branches of the church in Sege and Ada, located in the Greater Accra East Region. They will also provide free medical care to local communities while spreading the gospel of Christ.
Rev. Wengam urged all Christians to pray for the nation, stressing that prayer is essential in fostering unity and social cohesion, both of which are necessary for the country’s socio-economic development. As part of the celebrations, attendees dressed in traditional Ghanaian attire, reflecting the nation’s vibrant culture and heritage.
